My grandma's sweet potato pie was heavily laced with brown sugar, vanilla, cream, and obscene amounts of butter. OBSCENE. This is an almost exact replica of how her house smelled on the night before Thanksgiving when she started pre-baking her county-famous pies, except that I threw in some apple ginger crust, a splash of salted caramel, and adultified it with some bourbon & butterscotch.
